Hi, my name is Kim. I am always learning, educating, and creating, and I am happiest when I am working with my hands.
My lifelong battle with digestive issues, allergies, chronic pain, and other disturbing symptoms stemming from Chronic Lyme Disease encouraged me to start blogging in 2008. Inspired by the experiences from my own healing journey, this blog became my place to share ways to eat, heal, and live well. I know that eating clean food, practicing non-toxic household practices, and taking part in enlivening community activities has helped me greatly in my healing process, and I want to share my experiences with you in the hope that it will benefit you or someone you love. Over the years, my blog has became a resource in the gluten-free, allergy-free, whole foods, and Lyme Disease online communities. Although I no longer update this site, I intend to keep the content online as long as possible.
In September 2012, I began a Masters of Oriental Medicine program at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN, and put this food blog aside to focus on my studies. In this full-time, three-year program, I studied the varied healing modalities of Traditional Chinese Medicine, including acupuncture, Chinese herbalism, Chinese dietary therapy, tui na, gua sha, and moxibustion, as well as Western biomedical anatomy and physiology, pathology, pharmacology, nutrition. Countless hours of studying and over 3,060 hours of classroom and clinical training later, I graduated with my Masters of Oriental Medicine in December 2015. I am nationally credentialed through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and licensed through the Board of Medical Practice in Minnesota. I want to empower people to invest in their health and wellbeing, help them to feel in control of their bodies, minds, and spirits, and walk with them toward the lives they want to lead.
So what am I up to these days? I own Constellation Acupuncture & Healing Arts, based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and work one-on-one with patients. Check out my website and keep up with me there! Additionally, from July 2016-January 2017, I will be completing a 6-month Integrative Health Fellowship at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital, providing acupuncture and integrative health therapies to pediatric patients with complex medical diagnoses, and their families and caregivers.
