Ames Farm Honey giveaway winner, and some honey lovin' wisdom.

The random number generator has spoken! Drumroll please..................

Comment number 13 belonged to Anthy!  Congratulations Anthy, you are the winner of the Ames Farm honey and beeswax candle, and I will be contacting you shortly.

Thanks to everyone who participated and shared some of their honey-loving wisdom.  It made me smile to read so much honey lovin'.  In the spirit of sharing knowledge, here's some of the great suggestions from readers on how they use honey in their homes:

  • Use to sweeten tea, baking, salad dressings, honey-mustard dips, smoothies, raw cookies, sauces, and hot cereal or oatmeal, yogurt, or ice cream
  • Spread on biscuits, cornbread, toast, scones, or other bread
  • Drizzled over granola
  • On homemade parmesan crisps (um, YUM!)
  • Peanut butter or almond butter and honey sandwiches (there are lots of sandwich eaters who wanted this honey)
  • Straight out of the jar (YES!)
  • Hydrating facial mask
  • Ayurvedic cold remedy: 1 tsp honey coated in turmeric by mouth every couple of hours
  • Use in homemade cough syrups - honey and apple cider vinegar, what a great idea!

My personal favorite comment came from my old high school friend Tanya.  Here's what she wrote:

"My favorite honey is raw, unpasteurized, creamed honey on crispy, toasted, buttered artisan bread. I make myself two slices, a beautiful pot of dragon pearl jasmine tea, and sit out on my porch and watch the sunset. Such a simple thing, but it makes me feel so happy to be alive. I also like a drop or two of honey on homemade parmesan crisps ;) Sweet and salty and perfect!"

Oh Tanya, you made my heart swell!  Readers, can you see why the two of us became dear friends at a young age? She is wonderful. How I'd love to join her for a pot of jasmine tea, a sunset, and a night of conversation; it has been far too many years.

Thanks again to everyone for participating. I feel another giveaway happening in the near future...I wonder what it will be? ;)

xoxo, Kim

Hi reader! My schedule as full-time grad student with two part-time jobs doesn't allow me the time to manage comments. I hope you enjoy what you find and can figure out answers to any questions you may have. xo
