Worker B body product giveaway!

Want to win one a lovely Lotion Bar like this from Worker B?

A couple of Minneapolis farmers market friends of mine recently started a new company called Worker B. Worker B makes handcrafted lotions and balms here in Minneapolis using organic, high quality ingredients - never any fillers, synthetics, or preservatives. They use exclusively raw honey, beeswax, organic extra virgin olive oil, organic almond oil, organic avocado oil, vitamin E, propolis tincture, and organic essential oils to create their fabulous products, which range from hand lotions to lip balms.  Not only do I enjoy their philosophy and products, I am totally in love with their slick branding and packaging look, which was designed by a local Minneapolis agency.  Worker B  is available online, as well as at a number of Minneapolis retail locations and farmer's markets. These guys get around!

After spending the summer pestering them every week at the Farmer's Markets around town, I've now had the opportunity to try a number of their products. I liked how they felt clean and pure, and I was able to tolerate them just fine, even with my skin sensitivity.  My favorite is the Lotion Bar (pictured above), a rich and nourishing balm that keeps my hands and elbows soft, even after long days in the garden, long nights in the clay studio, and dry Minnesota winters!

Lucky for you, the generous folks at Worker B  were kind enough to give me two of their lotion bars for a giveaway!   I've been holding on to them since October,  just waiting for the cold winter months where we're all desperate for a little skin-nourishing moisture.  Two lucky readers will each receive one bar!

So, without further adieu, here's the skinny...

my favorite way to stay smooth and soft during these dry, cold midwestern winters is to use lots of lavender lotion and drink plenty of liquids!

January 19, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterStephanie R.

My favorite way is to put jojoba oil on straight after a warm shower, to seal in the moisture.

January 19, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJude H

Vitamin E oil and lotion! Plus I drink a ton of water, and despite the cold start my morning with a smoothie!

I love coconut oil on my hands and face for the moisturizing aspects. I also love it because it calms my acne and skin irritation on my face, as well as making my nails nice and strong!

Favorite way to stay soft is to drink TONS of water, and use lotion at night and then put socks or cotton gloves on my hands. I should really do that soon because I'm starting to look awfully crinkly. :) I would so love to try these lotion bars!

I make a homemade skin scrub. It smells do good with dried lavender and orange peel! And I always drink a ton of water.

To stay smooth, I only shower every other day to keep from drying my skin out. Sponge bath on alternate days.

What a great site with so many wonderful ideas and recipes - LOVE it! I'm actually looking for better ways to stay hydrated...my hands are very chapped and cracking. Currently using Lanolin to help protect them.

I use Alba's Kukai nut body cream on my dry elbows and knees. Smells heavenly and really nourishes parched skin.

I liked your page and Worker B's page on Facebook.

My favorite way to keep my skin happy in the winter is safflower oil. I rub it on after my shower (before towel drying). It keeps my skin hydrated and super smooth.

My favorite way to stay soft and smooth is using lotion with olive oil in it.

Thanks for this giveaway...Nivea's moisturizing lotion enables my skin to stay soft and smooth in the cold winter months...This lotion totally locks the moisture and is my favorite...

January 20, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterNive

for smooth skin in the winter, in freezing cold and dry minnesota, i use grapeseed oil scented with a few drops of lavender, right when i get out of the shower. leaves my whole body smooth, soft and soothed!

eating well, with lots of fats, and staying hydrated are key. i used to have terribly dry skin and eczema, but it really is possible to heal your skin from the inside out! now, i hardly do anything beyond a bit of coconut oil on a particularly dry day or after a sea salt bath. i would love to have a portable form of lotion to use!

I have super sensitive skin so lotion after every bath or shower is a total must for me in the cold, dry winter months. I bought a Worker B lotion bar at No Coast, but I wish I had gotten two: one for my desk at work and one for at home. I've been really happy with it so far.

January 21, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterTrinity

I'm a fan on Facebook! Yeay!

January 21, 2011 | Unregistered Commenterkathy

I like to use a pumice stone, scrubby glove, and afterward a bit of sesame oil. I use coconut oil in summer. ;)

January 21, 2011 | Unregistered Commenterkathy

I liked Worker B on Facebook.
And, I liked your MPLS swap group, too! That sounds like an amazingly fun idea. I have homegrown/homemade pickles and sauerkraut that is still fermenting and frozen berries from my backyard that I can make into preserves...I think I may have stumbled on to something great. I'll be on the lookout for a swap date.

January 21, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterTrinity

I'm prone to eczema on my hands, and I've found the only thing to keep it at bay is to use a hemp-based moisturizer. I've found that the hemp lotion also keeps my whole body super soft and smooth.

Thanks for the chance to win! xo

January 22, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterChristine

Because of my sons eczema the only "lotion" we keep around is coconut oil. It works great.

January 23, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterAnnette

I sometimes slather my hands with a thick cream (like the Bodyshop Hemp lotion), pop on some of those cheap mini-mitts and sleep overnight with them on to try to combat my sandpaper hands!

I use pure natural shea butter - luscious!

January 24, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterAmy

Look at all these comments Kim! I try to put lotion on my face multiple times a day, but I'm not very good at keeping my body hydrated.

January 24, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterApril

In the winter, I like to "stay smooth" by lathering up with coconut oil when I get out of the shower! It's all natural, has healing properties, and I find that it smells amazing and works better than lotion. The only downfall is that my dog seems to love it too and can't stop licking my ankles!

I'm already a die-hard fan of your facebook page :)
